Oh God, I'm nineteen
Got no routine
Don't know who to go to
Could tell a friend

Cos I'm a burden
Behind the curtain
Lies a boy
Who's been hurting
Never certain what he enjoys

Could've been different
Would've been an interest
Should've been ignorant
But I didn't speak

There's so much I would have said
Advice I would have asked you for
An extra hand in this tug of war
But I guess hindsight's 20/20
When your glass is half empty
Wish the past would change its ways
But we're exiting in different lanes

Left a note inside a coat I hoped you'd see
Something about being too much I had to leave
Cos I'm a mess
And you'll regret
Getting so close
So I packed my bags and now I'm heading for the coast

Could've been different
Would've been difficult
Should've been into it
But I didn't stay

If I had my time again
I'd be more than just your friend
I'd be everything you need and more
Allow myself to be adored
But I guess hindsight's 20/20
And we're just doing what's trendy
In the moment though there's few
Until we're old enough to have a view

But if the end is coming near
And we won't be here next year
If there is a fixed and settled outcome
Maybe hold on, count your blessings
Take a breathe and your possessions
Cos we won't be here when tomorrow night does come
